The primary function of the Staff Selection Commission is to conduct examinations and interviews to select eligible candidates for various positions in government offices. The Commission conducts a range of exams to recruit candidates for different levels of posts. Some of the prominent exams conducted by the SSC include:
SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam: This exam is conducted to recruit candidates for various Group B and Group C posts in ministries, departments, and organizations of the Indian government.
SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Exam: The CHSL exam is conducted to recruit candidates for positions such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, and Court Clerk.
SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Exam: This exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the post of Junior Engineers in various government departments, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying.
